Growing up in the south, I had heard all kinds of myths about kudzu and how it got to the United States. Most of them aren’t true. Furthermore, it is a very recognizable invasive plant, but doesn’t cause nearly the damage that other, less recognized species like Chinese privet do. Who knew!
Following the research, I published The Life and Lies of Kudzu in the Athens Science Observer and tried to shed light on some of Kudzu’s true roots.
